I bought an MEF cheaply a little while ago, with the mirror stuck/shutter not cocking. Sent it to the Aus Pentax distributor who refused to fix it, saying parts weren't available. What they meant was the PCB for the autofocus is no longer available, but the problem with the mirror/shutter was mechanical. Took it to a little shop in the city who fixed the shutter. Have a neat little camera that works well, just not with the AF assist.
Sadly, I haven't used it that much - the film thing, you know :) Collecting is fun, though. I love that clean sound the seiko shutter makes.
