I recently bought a Sigma 400mm APO Tele Macro manual
focus lens. It looked new but was probably just old
stock from the store. I discovered that it could not
be focused to infinity when I tried to take photos of
the moon. I sent the lens with a note to Sigma
Corporation in New York to repair the problem. I got
the lens back today with an receipt stamped
"UNREPAIRED, DISCONTINUED PRODUCT, PARTS & SERVICE NO
LONGER AVAILABLE". I have read somewhere before that
with some lenses, the infinity focus issue can be
fixed by unscrewing certain screws and then readjust
the lens. Does anyone know if this Sigma lens can be
fixed this way?
