Near the same focal length is the SMCFA 43/1,9 Limited, also consider the SMCFA 77/1,8
Limited (these are big bucks). Yeah, I know they're AF lenses, but they'll still work
great (manually) on your LX. Bonus - they'll work great on that MZ-S when you buy it!.
Also, consider an SMCA 50 f/1.4, an SMCA 50 f/1.2 if you like big glass, and the entire
collection of A* lenses. Actually, though a few Pentax lenses aren't quite on par with
most, all will work just fine. As to the 40mm pancake being "... too cheap for a
magnificent camera like this", (probably referring to its not being the sharpest in the
bag) the lens still has the virtue of being really small, and still, all lenses are
created pretty much equal at f/11.
Regards,
Bob...

we were promised perpetual peace.
They swore if we gave up our weapons
that the wars of the tribes would cease.
But when we disarmed they sold us,
and delivered us, bound, to our foe.
And the gods of the copybook headings said,
'Stick to the devil you know.' "
