the JPEG versions posted show some washed out highlights because of the color space conversion and compression. i assure you that there is highlight detail there in the prints from the original files.

Here's a hypothetical situation: I want to shoot
some waterfalls and other moving water using
ISO 50 transparency film, and want to slow the
shutter speed to get a nice blur on the water.
Conventional wisdom says an ND filter (assume
a 2-stop) is how this is done.
