It's been said that, on the old manual cameras, you can get 1/2 stop or so shutter speeds by just setting the shutter speed dial between the marked speeds. I've heard this said of Leicas as well. While it may not be very accurate by the standards of tadays electronically controlled shutters, it's generally "good enough" for many emulsions.
