I take your point, and in no way will i defend one brand over another. I
use the tools I do because i consider them the best for the job I want
them to do. It may well be that Canon decides to ditch in-lens IS in
favour of in-camera IS, but it won't bother me - I have some gear that I
expect will continue working for some time to come, and if it breaks i
also expect that i will be able to get it fixed for some time to come.

So my point is that far from being high and dry, I would consider that my
options of a support network, 1st and 3rd party, are not bad.....
