If that is "no wonder", then please tell me why I get correct exposures with the
AF500FTZ at the same flash to subject distances. :-)

My point was:
With the Z-1, the AF400T exposed correctly while the AF500FTZ overexposed. 
While, with *istD the AF400T overexpose, while the AF500FTZ expose correctly.

My theory was that this must be caused by some change in the way Pentax cameras
control flash output, since the two flashes communicate with the camera in two
different electronic languages. I was hoping someone had an idea about what's
going on, and whether my theory was on the far side. :-)
