I was thinking that just the other day, although I'm not sure you'd want to
take the time to work as slowly and carry as much weight and equipment
needed to do that.  Still, there have been several photos of yours where it
was clear that a 4x5 would have provided better results.

I was disappointed in the quality of then16x20 you showed us when we were
down in San Jose.  A larger format would have made that print really
"shine."  In truth, you're limited in the size and quality of the print you
can produce with the istD.  IMO, unless you start working with a larger
sensor and many millions of more pixels, or a larger format film camera,
you've just about reached the limit on what you can do with your landscape
photography.  Some of your 'scapes should be seen BIG ... of course, you
can get into stitching and all that entails, but I think you're about ready
to move up a notch or two, become a little more contemplative and
deliberate in your work, and start producing photos of truly "monumental"
proportions.
