The point I'm attempting to make, which I'm not trying to be obnoxious
about, is that saying and doing are two different things. The fact is that
they said something, not that they have produced something and brought it to
market.
The *ist D is a fairly decent camera when viewed in its own right. It was
disappointing that Pentax came out with *TWO* arguably lesser versions of
it, while their competitors were releasing upgraded and higher MP cameras.
This sort of mirrored the MZ-S,which had spec downgrades from the PZ-1p.
Then they discontinued the *ist D, what was arguably their "flagship" DSLR,
in favor of two lesser models.
I actually hope you turn out to be correct. If/when Pentax produces, it'll
be interesting to see whether it matches their competitors current offering
in that class of camera, or whether they have been leap-frogged.
Other than that, I still think your parroted proclamations about what Pentax
will do DLSR-wise and how they'll come through rings somewhat hollow when
they haven't even been able to tempt you in the past 1.5+ years.

Maybe I'm thick, but I just don't get it. Pentax have not released a
high-end DSLR. Thats a fact. Pentax do claim that they will and business
news article claims they'll release "one after another" starting next year.
This is also a fact. Thats good enough for me. You may of course be a
sceptic, thats fine by me. A higher-end DSLR is pretty obvious if Pentax
wants to be a player in this field. They do indeed claim that DSLR's will
be their main business in the camera division, something that smeels like
pretty good news for Pentax slr owners.
I just hope that the high-end models will offer more than simply *istD's
with more megapixel. If you were around at the time they released the
*istD, you'll see that I was very dissapointed by it. I predicted it would
not sell that well (was I right?). And that it was too much of a "me too"
in spite of its class leading size and weight. I still think Pentax need to
do better particularly in the design; something that caughts ones attention
and induce lust of ownership. I don't think I've been incosistent in my
arguments...
