I don't trust DVD's. We now know that CD's is not a reliable format, and

DVD's we don't know anything yet. I generally avoid new technology. I
prefer
to let others testing it out. That, besides money, is the main reason I
waited so long before going digital.
I've yet to have a CD that has been verified at the time of creation fail on
me, and DVDs are more reliable than CDs.
Multiple hard drive back ups, as well as online storage on two different
servers, preferably on two different continents is definitely the way to go
if you want to limit your risk.
