Shel, I have only just been enabled with one, a K2DMD without the motor drive (courtesy of Bill Lawlor). It's probably too early to have noticed any idiosyncrasies, but it is a great camera to work with, issuing a very satisfying "kerchunk" when you fire the shutter. The viewfinder is clear and bright, with spilt-image, micro-prism and ground glass focussing aids, although I find the shutter speed needle indicator a little too far to the side to use without moving my eye. The fact that it has both full auto and manual shutter speed settings, with aperture set on the lens, is a bonus to me as it combines the traditional way of working with the option of letting the camera do it for you. The ASA setting ring is unusually placed, around the lens mount, and would be easy to move unintentionally but for the incorporated locking spring. I have really enjoyed using it so far: for me it acts as a bridge between the M42 era and the later "plastic fantastics" . It is _very_ solidly built. An added bonus is that much of my very old accessory equipment works with it without problems - eg, an 18-year old non-Pentax flashgun.

No, not the mountain, the Pentax ;-))

It might be nice to get a K2. Does anyone have experience using one,
especially a K2-DMD. Problems to look for? Idiosyncrasies?

Shel
