Hi Mishka

You should think again about how RAID storage works:

Raid 1 writes/deletes simultaneous on 2 mirrored drives, so it is *not* the
same as having two separate copies of a file.

The more drives you involve in a system, the higher the possible error rate
gets.
A fail of 2 drives in a Raid 5 system at the same time destroys all your
data.
Raid systems are made more for speed and nonstop operation in networked
server environments than anything else imho.

And I can only repeat it again and maybe even the lazy and "easy going"
persons here better believe it:

You have to safe several generations of your data on different non
rewritable mediums stored on different places
to be "quite" safe.

Everything else is asking for trouble with your data sooner or later.

This is my last word on data backup, it's starting to get redundant :-)
greetings
Markus
