Bummer, Ken - but you never know what the judges are looking for. If it is a different panel of judges next year, don't hesitate to re-submit some of your picks for this year (and of course, rockin' new stuff!)

Well, I guess, I won't be going to London this fall!

I just received news from the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year contest
that none of my seven submitted images had made it through the semi final
stage of the competition (out of 17000 submitted)
The winning photographer will receive his acknowledgement in London.

I had not seriously thought I'd get the top award, but I really thought I'd
get a mention in one or two of the categories I entered.

Gotta see what I can generate for next year.

Wish me luck. I've entered 7 images in the BBC competition.
You can check them out @

etition/

I've been following the BBC competition off the last several years &
thanks
to several phenomenal photo opportunities last year in Denali I feel I
have
a good chance in the categories that I've entered: Animal Behavior -
Birds,
Animal Behavior - Mammals, Animal Portraits and In Praise of Plants.
4 of the images were taken with the *istD & 3 were taken with A PZ1P.
Lenses were - 600mm FA, 300mm f4.5 FA & 70-210mm F.

Take a look & let me know what you think. (Some or all of these images
have
been seen here before)
