Hi!
She's reading what I believe is a Russian newspaper. In the original pic,
and in the full-sized scan, you can make out the headline on the page of
the newspaper that's observable over her left shoulder. Maybe someone who
reads Russian can confirm the language.

Shel, perhaps you should learn Russian alphabet. It is not difficult,
after all, it is also left-to-right ;-)...
The letters are: B L O N D. D is slightly obscured but clearly it is D....
