I had the same dilemma, and ended up getting the 31mm because one turned up at a reasonable price, and if I hadn't got it I would always have wished I had. Greener grass, and all that.

However, the rational side of me says that the 35mm is almost as good and a damn sight cheaper, and any sensible person would get the 35mm unless he was made of money. (In case you're wondering, I lack both sense and cents.)

I doubt if this helps very much, but at least you know you're not alone in having to make this difficult decision!

Whichever you buy will be fine.
