I have just come across a very strange thing, is it happening to you?
OS X.3.8
I use Safari (1.2.4) and normally when I type a search term into the
Google field at top right of the browser and hit enter, the browser page
changes to the Google results. I have the Google preferences set so that
when I click on a result that interests me, it opens a new window and
displays the result in that. I like it that way so I can quickly close
the window and go back to the Google results etc etc
It has always worked fine - but all of a sudden, now when I click on a
Google result and the new page opens displaying said result, the Google
results page underneath *changes as well* !
Happens for me to. OS X 10.4.someting, Safari 2.0 (which I don't use
much - I prefer Firefox.)
Other people seem to have the problem, too - see
http://discussions.info.apple.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]@.68b63281
I tried it in Exploder and it works fine, so it's a Safari issue?
If this started happening just like that (no browser update or
anything), it is tempting to suspect an issue with Google itself. The
search results page contains lots of JavaScript code, and there may be
different versions of some of it for different browsers - of which the
Safari one (only) could be broken. Then again, it could be that Google
page merely has been updated so that it contains a valid, but previously
unused, construct that exposes a Safari bug.
I tried
it on 2 other computers in the house and it's the same - Safari Google
results page changes to selected result page as well as opening new page
with result. I tried resetting Safari and it's still doing it.
Does it do it on your Mac?
Any ideas Godders?
Ta!
Cheers,
Cotty
