I shoot a Canon EOS 20D.  Here are a few suggestions: (i) don't forget that
you can change ISO whenever you want to; (ii) save both RAW and small .jpg
files, use the RAW for image processing & printing and use the .jpg for fast
directory browsing (thumbnails) and low res purposes (emailing to friends,
posting on site, etc.); (iii) buy a dvd writer for archiving images (I keep
all on both a hard drive and dvd's; (iv) learn about cleaning the digital
sensor and decide on a cleaning process (I use VisibleDust stuff, not cheap
but works very well); (v) your Pentax is also good for IR film; (vi) have
fun.
