Thanks for the two (so far) tips on using the D1X. Friend says it
overexposures by 1/3 stop so has it programed to compensate for it. Was
aware of the dirt problem with sensor. The problem with this cameara is it
is a field camera in that it operates in military situations in the dry
prairies so there is no question that it has some dust in it but was
cleaned. have three batteries, two fully charged and will be putting the
other on the charger soon.

I do not undestand the ISO thing with digital. I realize that just like film
the higher the speed the more "grain" or whatever it is called but do not
understand the technology of having more than one speed for a sensor.
Thinking of setting it on 200 or 160 for action shooting in a very bright
clear blue Alberta sky (so far no clouds)

He also said he will bring a better lens than the 28-200 but not sure what
he has and is willing to lend as he is shooting the D2X at the same time.

As to the advice of the DVD burner we do have three or should say two on the
desktop computers and supposed to have one on the brand new laptop but it
failed just before my wife left for Europe for a course needing it.
Fortuantely the computer store we bought it from knew us and lent an
external DVD for the month. Have to send in the laptop (acer) for repairs
when she returns the middle of the month. Sounds like she gave the Sony a
good work out visiting an abbey yesterday. Need to try the infrared on the
Sony. Was told that the point and shoots are better than the DSLR for
infared.

It appears that my finger is not any worse than last night so we will be
going to the rodeo this afternoon.

Once again thanks
