Nevertheless it seems to be true that Leica rangefinder photogs "are legendary" for that preference, since every time I read an account of one of them explaining his (or her) choice of equipment, somewhere in it is a comment about Leica rangefinders being small cameras. (Quiet is also mentioned, as if you couldn't hear one across the room -- I guess it's good enough that you have to *try* in order to hear it.)

Compared to Speed Graphics, Rolleiflexes, Nikon F4/5 and all "professional" DSLRs not made by Pentax, I suppose they are small.
