Hi team,

I was just reading the PDML archive for june (while I was on a trip) and
noticed the discussion on the Lowepro backpacks.

I took a Lowepro PhotoTrekker AW on my trip to the US that lasted
four weeks, and I can only say I am more than happy with it.

1) It is small enough to carry as carry-on on the plane

2) It can carry my A* 300mm 2.8, an LX, Z1 and MZ-3 body, the 200mm macro
4 other lenses, 3 teleconverters and a lot of other small stuff.
(It is quite heavy then(30 pounds, 14Kg), but OK for traveling airlines :-)

3) It has an excelent tripod-mount on the back, that can also be moved to
the side.

4) You can mount additional lens containers on each side.

5) When packing for hiking (minimal wheight) it has lots of room for
about everything I need including food. (don't carry the 300mm then)
This adds up to about 22 pounds (10Kg)

6) It is a delight to carry when you have the hip-belt real tight, you only
start to feel the wheight after a few hours.
(longest hike was 9 hours down into the Grand Canyon and up again with it)

I can only recommend this backback.

The only disadvantage is the price, it was about US$ 300 where I got it.

Regards, JvW
