Hi,
Being on the used equipment market I had the chance to see a lot of older
Pentax (and non-Pentax) lenses: Takumars, M's and A's. Most of them are of
course primes, although some zooms appeared too. I bought two in the last
two months: SMC M 50mm/f2 and SMC A 28mm/f2,8. Gee, what a different "touch"
they have, comparing to the contemporary plastic stuff. They look solid,
professional, elegant, serious... perhaps "classic" is the right word...
Nowadays consumer grade lenses look like toys - very fragile, light (too
light?) etc... I don't especially like the construction of the FA lenses -
my 80-200/f4,7-5,6, although optically very good, seems so fragile, that I
have constant, subconscious fear of breaking it...
Those old lenses have such a "feeling", that I cought myself holding them
for just a pleasure of... holding:)) Seems like I've got some collector
tendencies...

And drive them into darkness.
Forever they'll be bound."
