----- Original Message ----- From: "Derby Chang" Subject: Manfrotto legs are slipping

I have a Manfrotto #055 tripod, with the old style lever locks (instead of the wing-type). Recently, the three locks on the lower section have started to lose their grip, so it it slips with the slightest weight on it. The upper locks are fine. Very annoying as I can only use the tripod at groin height (ahem).

I tried tigtening the hex bolts, but they are already pretty tight. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

Replace the entire clamp unit on each leg.
The old 055 is one of the poorest pieces of engineering I have ever seen.
