it's not a question of whether Pentax will survive. it will, but it's an open question yet whether it will still be in the camera business enough to matter. once the market stops growing, market shares essentially freeze. after that, the only way to make more money is to cuts costs or to raise prices. selling more units isn't an option any longer. Pentax isn't big enough to achieve the economies of scale that the larger companies can. playing in the low end of the market is a losing game.
