element separation angle, I an wondering if you are experiencing
digital blooming.

I tried to shoot some samples tonight (Tokina AF 19-35 vs Pentax FA
28-70), but could not reproduce the issue... I have to say that I
initially noticed the softness in full day shots, and since then I could
only get close from my gear at night, so I might not be in the right
conditions.

is a crop from the unmodified image. EXIF data is accurate.
As far as I can tell, it does not look like digital blooming, because it
caused the whole image to become hazy, not just highlight edges. However
I'm not an expert in this subject.
