I agree with you about the on/off switch, Tom.  That's one reason that I've
avoided Spotmatic F's.  Walk around without the lens cap on (gotta be ready to
take that piccie, right?), or even worse, leave the lens cap off when you get
home and leave the camera on a table or something, and your (increasingly hard
to get) mercury cells won't last long!
