The K mount Takumars are single coated bargain optics. They are
generally very prone to flare in general. This
particular lens has the reputation of being very soft, (which makes it a
fine optic for portraits however). You can
usually pick one up for a very reasonable price however. The SMC
Takumar (m42), and SMC Pentax (K) version
of this lens are outstanding but you'll pay a lot more for either of them.

This is one of the Pentax manual focus lenses. I'm hoping it might be
a cheap, but still useable option for my *istDS.
