I wouldn't feel too bad about using someone else's art as an element in your photography, at worst you're paying them a tribute. That's the way I feel about this.

A sad memorial. I know many friends and even family living in NY are
still dealing with post-traumatic stress from 9/11/2001. You captured
it well.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I'm never sure how to feel about
taking photos of other's art (assuming for a moment that grafitti can
be art). I mean, they did the work, and all I did was take a snap. All I'm doing, really, is recording their work.

That being said, I'd never had a "feel" for 9/11 like I did during the
few days I was in NYC this summer. Reminders are everywhere, and
(like this one) they sometimes pop up unexpectedly. Most poignant was
coming into the PATH station at WTC. I had no idea that it actually
loops around inside the open foundation of one of the towers. Looking
up at the blue sky, realizing that only a few years ago one of the
world's tallest buildings would have been over my head was a feeling I
can't describe. I'm not a spiritual man, but that place is as close
to sacred as I've been; I was truly moved.

But, I digress. Thanks again for the comments, guys and gals. Now
I'm going to post a PAW (since this one was actually missed from last
week) that will give a few of you pause... <LOL>

cheers,
frank
