Well there are many BILLIONS of people worldwide and a lot of them have cameras and a lot of those used SLRS in the past. I don't think 2.5 million SLR users finally switching to digital now would be unreasonable at all. I think getting most P&S digital users to spring $1000 for a body and a few lenses when they can get nice p&s cameras for a couple hundred would be a hard sell to someone who never used a SLR in their life.....

And the shutter lag on even the high-end P&S's is still roughly double that of a DSLR (The fastest DSLR's are under 40ms shutter lag, while the fastest P&S's are around 100ms last i checked). -Adam J.
