we are talking about PENTAX DSLR purchasers
and PENTAX lens system purchasers
who tend to consider lenses as something
more than just a thing on the camera to take
pictures with.

Sadly, lens quality is way down on the list for most buyers. They look at
camera body specifications and base most of their decisions on 
which camera body offers better performance, or worse, which company has the

highest performance body, even though they are buying the bottom of the line

product.
For most people, a lens is just something you stick onto the camera because 
you need one to take pictures with.
