Not to say its unimportant to you because
you are the one doing it, but I don't
understand WHY its important to you.
what are you doing with this EXIF data
that you find the lack of with KM lenses frustrating
or pain in the neck?

Secondly, anyone who doesn't own K/M
lenses or want to ever own K/M lenses
shouldn't comment because of course
this doesn't matter to you, its not
your fine PENTAX product getting disabled
without cause.

Only if they MADE you buy K/M support
( it was in ALL new pentax cameras)
and it cost you something something more
would it matter but that's not the case.
I am suggesting at least SOME new models with it,
not ALL.

Sorry JCO ... I should know better than to contribute any further to
these threads. I don't mean to provoke a response from you at all.

But don't put words in my mouth. I didn't say anything about camera
metering or lack of AE. I said that I prefer to use AF lenses over *A-
series* lenses because I want the focal length information embedded
in the picture data. A-series lenses allow all functions of the DS
body's metering to operate very nicely, and I do consider that
important ... which is why all but two of the older lenses I
purchased are A-series lenses.

K/M series lenses are irrelevant in the context of this comment.

I also said I would like to have the focus distance setting embedded,
which at least FA, DA and D-FA series lenses should be able to provide.

That's it.

best
Godfrey
