I'll only answer this one of your questions: IF means Internal Focusing,
meaning that focus is achieved by shifting internal elements and the
physical dimensions of the lens don't change as it focuses. Usually, this
indicates faster focusing time with AF cameras as well. It also indicates a
front element that doesn't rotate, useful to know if you use filters that
have to be oriented, such as polarizers or graduated filters.
