Yes, I tried it at a local dealer - took the camera outside and could
not read the information in the viewfinder. Conditions: typical, bright
New Mexico sun. If you live where it isn't sunny all the time, the 5n
might be a good camera.

With various contortions like holding the camera in my right hand and
shading with my left, I could barely read the viewfinder. But I am
unwilling to take most of my shots this way. I wear glasses, btw, so if
one doesn't wear glasses maybe the display is easier to read.

I bought a 1p instead, and now have two of them. The viewfinder display
is no better, but one can read the exposure information on the external
lcd. This is what the 5n lacks.

Even with my two 1ps, I'd like to have a small, capable body. There's a
rumor that a 5n replacement will come. I'm looking forward to it, and
assume it will correct this problem.
