Hey folks, since some of you manifested curiosity about the FA*400 f/5.6, I
have posted a couple of shots taken with the new lens. Warning - all but
one of them is over a meg, so if you have a slow connection, look at the
file sizes before clicking on the thumbnails.
More critical tests may come later. The first weekend with a new lens is
always for fun, fun, fun. The last shot I took after standing in the same
place for 30 minutes, waiting for the birds to ignore me and come to their
fave plant. I eventually realized that I was standing in an anthill, and by
the time the bird showed up, my legs and shorts were full of little red
ants. It tests the resolve to shoot handheld at 400mm with one's bum under
attack.
