Can't wait to get out and try my new old lenses. Picked up the extremely rare 30mm f2.8 SMC K mount lens today in mint condition. The passed sticker is still on. I don't think it's ever been used. $175 Cdn. what a steal. Same lens is at Keh for $399 American. That's almost $700 Cdn. While I was at it I picked up the Tokina ATX 90f2.5 macro with macro convertor for $300 Cdn. The Tokina and convertor even came in an incredible leather carrying case. For those who are not familiar with this Tokina lens, it scored among the highest rating of any lens on Photodo - a 4.6. It appears to be an incredible lens. I'm adding these two lenses to the Pentax K28 f3.5, the Pentax 120f2.8 and Pentax KA 70-210 f4 I picked up two weeks ago. I've been on a buying spree since I decided that I am not going to follow the autofocus trend. I've got a few autofocus lenses for the PZ1 but I don't find I use autofocus that much. I miss the beautiful feel that the manual focus lenses give. I know I could buy the limited lenses but I like the old K mount lenses with the LX. I know they'll last a lifetime, I doubt the AF ones will last ten years. I know there are good arguments for the latest autofocus lenses but I'm sticking to solid, well-built primes that are built to last. I'd like to hear other people's opinions. Thanks Vic PS does anyone have the Pentax 30 and care to comment.. - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List. To unsubscribe, go to http://www.pdml.net and follow the directions.
