I agree. I replaced the shoe on an old Vivitar 285 flash and it was a 15 minute job. > Now that I think about it, maybe it should be designed to simply > disconnect rather than snapping. Sunpak and Metz modular flashes have replaceable hotshoes that work exactly that way. I think it's a great idea if the flash is worth the extra cost. It wouldn't make sense for a flash that sells new for $50 but a $400 unit should be repairable. Tom Reese
