Well, the first thing I noticed is his eyes. I don't see them as closed, rather it looks like he's squinting. I see the index finger of his right hand raised; that coupled with his facial expression makes me think he's trying to make a point. I see him as an opinionated curmudgeon with a heart of gold (one of those friendly curmudgeons <g>). I see him in a wheelchair or one of those electric scooter thingies. I look at the knarled skin on his face. I imagine that he was a soldier at one point in his life (maybe I'm only thinking that because he's Israeli). I imagine that he was a freedom fighter (a politically expsosive description these days, to be sure) back in the Middle East in the 40's or 50's, one who has very definite opinions on modern life generally, and politics in particular. And, if my imagination has run rampant and is nowhere near reality, I just see him as a friendly grouch. Am I anywhere close, Boris? Or do you even know? Even if I'm not close, these are the kind of portraits where I have fun imagining - so I enjoy them none-the-less. cheers, frank -- "Sharpness is a bourgeois concept." -Henri Cartier-Bresson
