I did have my Z-1p checked by Pentax when I was in Australia few years ago. 
Unfortunately, the guy said the camera was perfectly okay and gave me an 
unfriendly look (felt like I was making something up). Since my recent Z-1p 
has exactly the same problem (or not a problem at all), I don't think my 
Z-1ps (2 in total) were an insolated case.
