I disagree - One per lens is plenty!!!!

In all seriousness though...

When I first got an MZ-30 I thought as you that I would find it a hassle
to use a lever to set aperture. In fact I now prefer it, unless you
want to use full manual mode where you have to hold a button to toggle
between setting aperture or shutter using the lever. Since I almost
never use full manual (sorry Shel!), I prefer using the lever. However
this is purely subjective and I would never say it is easier.

The big problem I have with using the aperture ring is that for variable
aperture lenses, the ring setting is not always the true aperture - so
you have to keep looking at the screen to see what aperture you have
set. This can be very misleading as the lens is lying to you, and I do
not see why the mz-s could not have allowed aperture selection using the
top plate dial (via another pentax custom function to use this mode)
when the body is quite capable of setting the aperture in auto mode.

We could argue till we are blue in the face about which is better/faster
or whatever.

My arguement is that there was no reason not to allow this option - it
would be a simple software issue to include an option which modified the
interface in such a way that it could be body controlled. If you didnt
want it you would not use it - simple! I am not saying take away the
aperture ring, just give us the option of body control.
