I agree Shel. Pentax lenses are a good investment especually if you are
shooting film and digital. I have the 20 2.8A lens and I love it.

I use both mf and af with the 20-35, 14, and 35 a lot. AF is often
quite
useful w these focal lengths as well as fast & accurate. Very easy to
zone
focus too. I am not sure I understand the reason behind your
preference.
