Dave, that's one fascinating story. I should say one of your points puzzles me. The only thing you gain with 28-105 over 16-45 is the 45-105 range which translates to roughly 70-150 mm on *istD(S). Is that significant a gain? I thought that natural complement to 16-45 would be somewhat longer zoom lens, such as 70-210 or thereabouts... This is very interesting. After I got enabled with 28-105/4-5.6 IF, I should say, I am satisfied with the focal range for my general shooting. Naturally your mileage is different. Thanks for the story.
