Don,
I own this lens and I have made some pictures I like very much, it gives
very nice results. You're not going to find a constant aperture lens in
that zoom range. I don't know about any good replacement, as I wouldn't
sell mine but would only another lens additionally.
I think you're gonna get less profit out of selling it than using it.
It's got the A contacts, it should work nicely on the D.
