It's the first AF lens I purchased when I got the PZ-1p. I know it's generally poo-pooed, but I've got some very nice results from it.

I can't remember what it sold for brand new. I believe it was actually a Tamron lens. B&H sells a black or silver Tamron Zoom Wide Angle-Telephoto AF 28-200mm Super Zoom f/3.8-5.6 XR IF Macro Autofocus Lens for Pentax AF.

$259 black and $209 silver. Appearance-wise it looks virtually identical to the Pentax-badged version, and may be optically as well (but I haven't done a study). :)

Hey Folks,

I'm thinking of getting this autofocus zoom for my wife. She's not hugely
picky about image quality, and this looks like it might be a good general
lense for around the neighborhood? KEH has one for a bit under $200,
excellent plus. Any comments on it? She'd be using it on both a ZX-5n and
eventually a *istDS.
