I optimistically second that. As I understood, R&D at pentax is rather
small, and although there won't be many specialists for optics _and_
electronics pentax could focus on the optcis more than in the past, when
there's Samsung for the electronics.
I hope they stick to the K mount in the future, and give us an new line
of beautiful primes, in front of larger sensors housed in sealed bodies...

In the consumer electronics industry Samsung is a
brand I grew to respect a long time ago.
They have an uncanny habit of producing products
as good _or better_ than the competition at lower
prices.
This bodes well mixing them with a company renowned
for quality glass and small, reliable, feature rich
SLR's, and now DSLR's.
Could be a very good thing for us all.
