Likewise.
Samsung Semi was not my favourite vendor to work with because of theirtendancy
to be continually refining their products. Because of theR&D tax benefits the
Korean government gave them, they were alwaysdeveloping/improving/cost reducing
their products. Because the myindustry is long life, once designed, we tend to
ship the same productfor 10years or so, the regular component changes by
Samsung caused megrief (because I was supporting the older designs).
Of course, production longevity is not required in the digital cameraindustry,
and the continual R&D development of Samsung products mayactually be the
preferred mode.
FWIW, the products we work on may be considered 'bleeding edge' indevelopment,
and then produced until every last penny can be squeezedour of the design.
Samsung is often picked in the design stages, because no other memory vendor has
product which meet the designrequirements.
YMMV.
