I can easily see a Samsung body, possibly designed by Pentax, and a Nikon
mount, with Pentax supplying the lenses with Nikon mounts...
I better shut up. I don't want to give them any ideas... ;)
I personally don't see Samsung profiting highly by associating themselves,
in name, with a company that is viewed as a lesser player by the industry
and consumers at large.
Is there, in fact, room in the marketplace for another DLSR maker?

This runs parallel to my statement earlier regarding choice of lens mounts,
and is what I was thinking in the back of my mind. If a company wanted to
sell the most DSLR's, picking Pentax as the company and the K-mount as the
mount, is not the approach to take.
Maybe Samsung simply wants to enter the DSLR market, and for all practical
purposes, absorb, assimilate Pentax Imaging.

I don't understand the partnering myself.
Samsung are interested in one thing VOLUME.
They really wouldn't care a hoot about cameras or mounts, but if they expect
to
sell DSLRs in volumes like they do all their other product/component lines
by
partnering with Pentax then they are deluded.
