Correct. The Sigma SLR cameras were originally going to have Canon EOS mount, but before production Canon had second thoughts about the licensing and pulled out. So Sigma created their own bayonet, but the electronic contacts and protocols follow Canon specs. It was very easy for Kodak to swap the Sigma mount for a Canon mount without changing much else.

The sensor came from fillfactory in Belgium. www.fillfactory.com While many reported problems with high noise levels, I didn't have that complaint when I shot with the DCS-14n for a couple of months. I did find skin tones somewhat "pasty" and unnatural, but I heard that a later firmware upgrade fixed that.
