No, it's not paranoid :-( I am just afraid that it isn't paranoid enough :) The biggest problems are when the people in control create the problems to protect us from to justify their power more (e.g. - Putin's Russia, e.g. - many other countries, including mine, but I don't want to get _too_ much political here). g> With film you had a chance. Like the old one, get the convincing shot, exchange the film covertly and handle the officer a blank, new, empty film to oogle ;-) It's nice some pro digital cameras have double storage slots, CF & SD - give them the CF keeping the SD or vice versa - during and after the US hurricane crisis some New Orleans officers confiscated cards quite often, I have heard - well they wanted to confiscate whole cameras (and probably sometimes did) but giving them the CF could placate them, while grinning under one's beard, keeping the shots on the other card...
