Someone I know is a full time animal photog, specialising in dogs. He used to be an RSPCA (Royal Society for the Protection of Cruelty to Animals) inspector whose hobby was photography. Eventually the weekend snapping started making him as much money as his day-job, so he resigned and does it full time. He has written several books on the subject of animal photography, especially portraiture. Here's some tips from Nick: <http://www.nickridley.com/> Navigate to 'Top Tips' at top left.
