Yes, either is fine. CR V3 is very long lasting (at least 1000 shots) but of course it's not so cheap. Alkaline will give you perhaps 500 shots. NiMH will perhaps give you 200-400 shots after one charge. Rechargeable CR V3's are not recommended by Pentax. Regards
