I agree in general with you but I find your dislike for proselytizers
someone at odds with other beliefs you seem to hold. You are certainly
entitled to dislike whatever you wish. However, both religious groups you
mentioned are following the dictates of their faith and consciences. Those
are some of the same rights that hundreds of thousands of country men have
died for in the 'defense of freedom and liberty'. The Supreme Court cases
that were fought and won by Jehovah's Witnesses in the '40's have actually
secured freedoms for all. It's largely because of those cases that the flag
salute is not compulsory today.
When they come to your door they are exercising constitutional rights of
freedom of speech we have all come to enjoy and usually take for granted.
You of course are exercising your constitutional right not to listen.

By definition, you're an atheist if you don't believe in God. It's not a
definition used by religious people. There are atheists who wear that label
proudly. I don't have a problem with Atheists who don't believe in God, I
don't have a problem with the religious who don't try to force their
religion on others, I do have problems with proselytizers, for or against
God. I find that Atheist proselytizers tend to try to force their beliefs
with the power of the law, where as most of my experience with religious
annoyances are on a more personal level. I've gotten quite good at making
Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses uncomfortable. It's a useful hobby.

Atheist is simply a tag religious people apply to the non-religious, ie
those who couldn't care less or really don't think about such things.
